Law librarians are increasingly teaching beyond traditional legal research, taking on doctrinal courses, legal history, legal technology, and other electives. This program will showcase examples of these courses, illustrate how librarians became involved, and provide strategies for proposing new classes to the administration. Speakers will also discuss how teaching these subjects compares to legal research instruction, offering practical insights for librarians interested in broadening their teaching roles.

This program will be presented in a panel format, where panelists will share real-world examples and personal stories about teaching non-legal research courses. To foster interaction, we will conduct a live poll (likely using Poll Everywhere) to engage the audience by asking who has taught non-legal research courses, who is considering it, and what courses they have taught or are interested in teaching.
