AI is already changing how law students and legal professionals research, learn and work. But the policies, training and guidance surrounding its use have not always kept pace.

Legal librarians are increasingly being asked to evaluate AI tools, educate users, verify AI-assisted research and help their organizations determine what responsible use should look like. In many cases, they are taking on these responsibilities without clear direction or a formal voice in the decisions being made.

This webinar will bring together perspectives from law schools, law firms and practicing attorneys for an honest conversation about what is happening in the real world. Panelists will discuss the gap between AI policies and actual behavior, the questions librarians are being asked to answer and practical ways they can help their organizations use AI more thoughtfully.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

The webinar would primarily be for law-firm and law-school librarians, but it will also be relevant to knowledge-management professionals, legal research instructors and others involved in AI adoption and training.

TAKEAWAYS:

  1. Evaluate tools and practices through multiple perspectives.
  2. Develop practical polices and guardrails that support responsible AI use.
  3. Lead AI adoption by guiding attorneys, faculty and students through change.

MODERATOR:

  • Madeline Cohen, Bloomberg Law

SPEAKERS:

  • Colin Caleb, Bloomberg Law
  • Lindsey Carpino, BakerHostetler
  • Jessica de Perio Wittman, University of Connecticut School of Law Library
